Phonological Processing Disorder

Katie had some difficulty speaking clearly as a toddler.  Now that she’s in school, she’s having difficulty with reading. She gets speech in school, but the children in her class are learning letter sounds and putting sounds together into words.  This is so difficult for Katie! I don’t want her to fall behind in school!

Some children have a specific difficulty hearing the sounds that make up words. At Cornerstone Speech, we offer the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program for Reading, Spelling and Speech (called the LiPS program).   Individual sessions with an expert speech language pathologist will ensure that your child can produce each separate phoneme, can recognize the phoneme in words and will soon be connecting phonemes for clear speech and fluent reading.  We have seen marvelous progress for children who receive special therapy with this program.
